chrysalis studio
Chrysalis Studio
Chrysalis is a studio space for transformation through art, embodiment, and community – a sanctuary where creativity is a sacred practice of becoming.
We hold space for artists, seekers, and sensitives to remember their essential wild nature – through embodied art-making, supportive community, and the quiet alchemy of emergence. Return to the rhythm of your own creative cycles: remembering, dreaming, becoming, taking flight. This is where art is practice, where creation is an act of devotion, and where community comes together – awakening the imaginal. This is a living journey through the natural cycles of transformation. A space to remember who you are beneath the noise.
You are not meant to stay the same.
Something inside you is asking for space —
to dissolve, to reimagine, to emerge in a new form.
A Love Letter to the Creative Path
My work is rooted in a lifelong devotion to creativity as a way of knowing—through color, texture, movement, material, and stillness. I’m drawn to the places where meaning emerges without needing to be explained, where the body, the hands, and the imagination lead.
For over three decades, my practice has woven together creative arts processes, somatic awareness, polarity therapy, and ritual. What I’ve learned through teaching, making, and facilitating is simple:
Creativity is not something we force.
It is something we practice.
In my workshops, art-making becomes a way to listen—to sensation, intuition, memory, and possibility. The focus is less on product and more on process: showing up, paying attention, and allowing meaning to take form. When engaged with care, creativity becomes a regenerative force—supporting clarity, resilience, and connection.
Chrysalis grew out of years of studio practice and teaching, from a desire to create spaces where the creative process is honored as meaningful work. I’ve come to understand the studio as a place of inquiry and renewal, where art-making helps us track change, mark thresholds, and stay present to what is unfolding.
Chrysalis is the vessel for this work:
creative arts workshops and experiences that reflect life’s cycles—initiation, experimentation, release, and emergence.
People arrive at this work during transitions, periods of creative block, or simply from a longing to reconnect with making. All are welcome.

Art as a Daily Practice | Summer Series
May–August 2026 | Online
For years, Art as a Daily Practice has been a signature class at The Urban School—an invitation for students to discover that art is not simply a subject, but a practice of attention. A way of becoming.
Now, I’m reimagining that experience as an online offering for all of you: a creative space for everyone—not only for artists and seekers, but also for beginners, and anyone longing to build a more intentional relationship with their own imagination. This will be an evolving space—part course, part ritual, part living portal.
This first iteration takes place across four months, May through August, and is designed to gently set up and support a summer practice that continues beyond our time together. We will meet for four live Zoom workshops, with space between and beyond them for continued making.
Each participant will choose a personal focus for their art making and commit to a powerful experiment: to make something every day.
A drawing.
A photograph.
A poem.
A video.
A sculpture.
A song.
A gesture.
A noticing.
Not for perfection.
Not for performance.
At its center is a simple question:
What happens when you show up to your work every day—whether you feel like it or not?
What if your art practice became a devotion?
A daily ritual.
A way home to yourself.
What if creativity wasn’t something you fit in when there was time…but something you built your life around?
This is not only about being inspired. It’s about showing up—again, and again—until something begins to move.
What happens when art is no longer something you make occasionally—
but something you return to, again and again, as a way of being?
Art as a Daily Practice is a studio-based approach to making that centers on consistency, attention, and return.
You don’t wait to feel ready. You begin where you are. And you come back the next day.
—
We’ll look to artists whose work unfolds over time—through repetition, duration, and quiet persistence:
You’ll develop your own simple structure—a prompt, a constraint, a score—something you can return to daily.
You might draw, print, write, collect, layer, trace, or simply notice. You might work for five minutes or fifty. What matters is not what you make—but that you return.
—
Over time, something shifts. A rhythm forms.
A body of work accumulates. A way of seeing emerges.
This is a practice of attention.
A practice of trust. A practice of staying.
Daily practice is not just discipline—it is devotion.
Daily devotion changes us. It builds capacity. Muscle.
Creative practice can become a ritual of self-trust.
Showing up, again and again, reshapes the inner landscape.
Remembering.

Online Vision Board Workshop
January 11, 2026 @ 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm PST via Zoom
Join us for an afternoon of creative reflection and vision boards, all online via Zoom. This is an opportunity to get clear about your intent. Set your course, choose your trajectory, align yourself with your deepest core. This requires listening within, focusing and being open to creative energies. Vision boards are an amazing tool – intentional yet spontaneous. We need both! We have an amazing group from all over the world who has been gathering for this workshop for many years.
I have been making various types of vision boards for many years and I find that my overall process takes longer than 2-3 hours. The creative process takes time. I like to really meditate on what images mean to me and what I want to call in. Sometimes I happen upon something randomly, other times I search for something very specific. Sometimes an image feels essential and I won’t know why I included it until later. The power of getting clear about my intent is quite profound. For me, it is a form of personal navigation – orienting toward a north star.
When you ponder the idea of dreaming into being, what arises or emerges? It might be less about what you do and more about how you feel. We have time to let it unfold. What will you dream for 2026? What is your intent & VISION? What are you bringing into focus? How will you orient yourself? What are you moving toward? Our focus will be more inward than outward.
Remembering
Reflect • Distill • Dissolve • Honor • Release
Saturday, December 13, 2025 | 1:30-4:30 pm PT
Before rushing headlong into what comes next, let’s pause here.
Let the year settle. Let it speak. What really just happened? Let certain moments rise up in your memory—the act of remembering is its own form of alchemy.
What bloomed? What broke open? What quietly composted itself back into soil? Where’s the gold?
This is not about assessing productivity or resolutions. This is about reflecting on and metabolizing a year of living—the highs and the lows, the unexpected gifts and the necessary losses. Through somatic awareness, creative practice, and sacred witnessing, we’ll travel back through 2025 together, honoring specific moments, each threshold crossed, each version of yourself you had to become, what you let go of.
We gather what needs gathering. We grieve what needs releasing. We witness and celebrate what deserves to be seen. We clear and create space.
You’ll leave with both a sense of completion and preparedness—not as an ending, but as fertile ground. Spaciousness for what wants to be born.
The caterpillar doesn’t know it’s becoming a butterfly.
It only knows it must dissolve.
What if this threshold—this turning of the year—is your chrysalis?
What if the resistance you feel is not to your dreaming,
but a sacred force that strengthens and expands your capacity to fly?
Includes:
- Opening circle
- Setting Sankalpa (intention)
- Somatic practices to return you to your body
- A guided journey
- Journaling prompts asking some deeper questions
- Closing Ritual of witness and release
- Honoring of who you are now
- Tea & nourishment
Come remember.
Dreaming
Vision • Align • Devotion • Emerge • Become
Saturday, January 10, 2026 | 1:30-5:30 pm PT
From the cleared ground of completion, dream forward. This is visioning from the deepest part of you that already knows why you are here, what you came here to do and what wants to come through you into being.
Through embodied creativity, collage, and envisioning work, we’ll call in the new year that wants to live through you. The one your body says yes to. The one that makes your cells hum with recognition. This is a practice of deep listening.
Working with image and word, intuition and clarity, we will create vision boards that aren’t just beautiful—these become symbolic portals. Maps back to your deepest devotion. Mysterious synchronicities often arise. You can return to these over time as more is revealed.
The creative process can take more than 2-3 hours. If possible, take time beforehand to ponder and gather images that have meaning for you. You may reach for something random that becomes essential. You may not know why you included it until much later. Trust this intuitive process. The power of getting clear about intent is quite powerful. For me, it’s a form of navigation, like a north star.
Within that dissolution, imaginal cells hold the pattern of the butterfly.
The blueprint for new life is there.
Create a sense of direction for 2026. With creative practices to stay grounded in what matters. With the felt sense of alignment humming through your bones. What helps you find your own harmonic? What has resonance?
Includes:
- Opening circle (especially potent after you’ve journeyed through Remembering)
- Somatic grounding to root your vision in your body
- Creativity coaching for dreaming
- Art-making & collage (some materials provided)
- Journaling from your deepest desires
- Dreaming from a place of vision and clarity
- Closing ritual
- Tea & nourishment
Come dream.
