a large closed steamer trunk on the floor. water is slowly seeping out of the trunk onto the floor. from the trunk’s inside comes a faint sound of water dripping. two ten-foot wooden doors are fixed open between two columns. beyond the doors is a 400-pound rectangular block of ice standing on end. as it melts, water gathers in a puddle around it. behind the ice is a grid of opaque windows. the cement floor contains a grid of grooves between sections. through the wall below the window a small square opens to the outside.

one pane of glass at eye-level is missing. outside the window are the green leaves of a bush.
