PROJECTS / Installations / bardo

Date 1994

“Bardo” is a Tibetan word describing transition – it implies an interval of suspension, a gap between the completion of one situation and the onset of another.

At the entrance to the building is a display case the size of a small room. A wooden swing hangs from the ceiling. Two opposite walls are red brick. A grid of blank pages of parchment covers the back wall of glass. From outside, all this is distorted by a membrane of latex on the window.
