Next month I am offering another online workshop of creative inspiration, guided journeying, reflective writing and art-making on Sunday, October 1st from 1-4 pm PST.
The theme for the June workshop was Sanctuary in the Self, focusing on the third chakra. For Center of the Rose, we will delve into the fourth chakra to explore the petals of the heart, finding balance in both self-love and intimacy with others. Here we will explore devotion, forgiveness, and connection. Conscious opening and closing of the heart is how we cultivate the capacity to stay present in the face of both pleasure and pain. Giving and receiving is essential, and sometimes the receptive aspect can be the most challenging. We will touch on topics such as attachment and freedom, eros and thanatos, grief and loss, approaching the wound of heartbreak as a portal for healing. As we move into the very center of pain we often find spaciousness. Central to this chakra is the element air which can create real transformation through the breath, creating space to feel the full range of emotions fully and move it all through. This mysterious unfolding offers tremendous integration, transformation and liberation.
Weaving together themes inspired by a range of visual art, esoteric teachings such as the chakra system from yoga, archetypal images from alchemy and the occult, as well as tools from the world of coaching, we will dive into a multidimensional exploration. This workshop will include a slideshow followed by a guided journey / meditation about being in the center of the heart. I will be leading us through breathwork, embodiment practices as well as a guided meditation. We will move into writing / reflection with a few prompts and then create artwork based on what arises. You can draw, paint or work with mixed media in collage. Or do something different.
On the idea of dreaming into being:
I am dreaming a lot these days. Dreaming awake, daydreaming, lucid dreaming, deep sleep dreaming, and perhaps even tapping into a collective dreaming. For me, dreaming awake often feels like expanding my sense of capacity. I extend out beyond what I already know, out into a realm of no limits, where anything is possible. Dreaming into being is a process of opening up, reaching and then bringing some idea or vision or inkling from that realm into this realm, here and now. This is a highly intuitive and creative endeavor that is incredibly potent.
